What do we do?

Presenters: We consult with you and present choices for your event. With many years of experience here and abroad, we have a wide network of contacts and are able to access virtually any kind of artist for a given situation.
Artists: List with us and make your self available for bookings and events. We’d like to see you perform. In additon, we provide help and resources to better market your services including websites, press kits, bios, media relations, radio promotion, photography and more.

 

Who are we?

Paul Wainwright is a freelance musician from Victoria BC. Performing hundreds of dates each year he is an exceptional sax player, vocalist and entertainer. He has performed in Canada, the US and Europe and has recorded extensively. Many of his recordings have received world wide airplay. He holds a diploma in Business Administration. A wide range of associates and contacts in the music industry affords him the opportunity to help people connect.

What kind of events benefit from live entertainment?

Conference, convention, private party, house party, reception, wedding, nighclub, restaurant, pub, fundraiser, graduation, team event, public/civic event, sea cruise, beach party - anywhere people gather, is a good time for live entertainment!

Why use a go-between?

Presenters: With years of experience in a host of varied situations, we can often anticipate the unexpected and prepare for contingencies. For example, if a performer is unable to perform at the last minute, we are in a good position to find a replacement. We offer assurances that performers are of professional standing - many are among the top in their field. We work hard to ensure that your event runs smoothly, so that your efforts can be directed where they are most needed. We process a written contract and ensure that both parties are informed well in advance of the necessary details. Performers are given the information and posess the requirements they need to do their best.
Artists: Many need representation to put their best face forward and to benefit from the advantage of administrative assistance. Artists benefit further knowing they are part of a well respected tradition, and are associated with professionals.

What is the territory?

Most of our clients’ events are in the Southern Vancouver Island/Gulf Island region, and we have contracted entertainment all over North America. Many of our artists are available to travel.

Who are the artists?

Jazz, blues, swing, country, folk, RnB, funk, reggae, ska, classical chamber groups, comedians, magicians, dancers, children’s entertainers - Victoria is home to a huge diversity of entertainment choices.

Why don’t their names appear on this website?

Our performers receive invitations to perform from many sources and are not bound by exclusive booking agreements. Once an artist’s name is put forward by us, it is understood that any booking that arises will be handled through our office. (See Terms of Agreement)

How does a presenter book an act?

Call or email if you are planning entertainment for an event. Use our on-line form to get started and to agree to our terms of service.

How will I know if an artist is right for me?

In most cases, we can provide an artist profile, bio, photo and sample recordings.

How much will it cost?

Solo performers start at $150. The artist pays us a commission (10 - 20% of gross). The number of performers, venue, type of engagement, production requirements and size of audience are factors that influence the cost. In some cases, we can help find funding for an event!

Do I have to sign anything?

A contract must be signed by both parties and a deposit recieved to make entertainment contracts binding.
